The yard tractor's front cover is made mainly from plywood. It has a removable hood to allow access to the motor speed controller which is mounted on the chassis below the cover. Effective air cooling of the controller is important and the front cover is vented at the front and sides to assist in this. A dashboard is built into the cover which can carry panel instruments as required. The seat is a simple inexpensive bought rigid pan seat (not modelled accurately in image) and is mounted over the rear wheels and axle to contribute to the load over the rear wheels and traction. |
