Each rear wheel of the tractor has its own electric motor drive. On each a 24V 660W DC Permanent Magnet electric motor drives through a 2 stage roller chain reduction to the rear axle. A disc brake is incorporated into each drive to provide mechanical braking independent of the electrical system. The intermediate drive shafts are mounted on needle roller bearings supported in hardwood housings. The brake callipers are operated by a heel pedal.
