The rear wheels are conventional 18x850x8 turf tyre/wheel units. They are mounted on a weld-less drive hub assembly which incorporates a 3/8" pitch (#35) roller chain drive sprocket. The rear axle is 25 mm diameter un-stepped steel shafting and runs on inexpensive needle roller bearings mounted in the hardwood bearing blocks in the chassis. The axle is also fitted with ball thrust bearings to carry axle thrust loads that arise during tractor cornering. |
