Upper plywood frame to
provide support for the motor controller. This raises
the controller to achieve a flow of cooling air over it.
Plywood and metal mesh drive
box covers to ensure fingers can not get access to the
moving transmission or hot drive motors.

Protection must be provided to prevent access to the internal moving parts of the drive box. The timber and metal mesh covers also prevent accidental touching of the drive motors which can get hot when used for an extended period of driving. The motor controller also generates heat in normal operation and must be positioned in a cooling flow of air - this is achieved by the shaped plywood frame which raises the controller in its position behind the seat.
