KART REAR DRIVE WHEELS & TORQUE ATTACHMENTS

The same type of 10" pneumatic wheels as are used on the front are also used for the rear drive wheels. A simple modification is made to the rear wheels to add a torque plate attachment to fix the wheels to the rear drive axles.
The radial load capacity of each wheel is about 136 kgf (300 lbs)

rear wheel and torque attachment

As with the front - the rear wheels are commonly available and inexpensive 10" pneumatic split steel rim type wheels. A minor modification is made to the rear wheels to add a torque plate which engages with ground torque transfer flats on the drive box main output axles.

The rear tyres see more wear and tear than the fronts - they are the drive wheels and also provide the kart's braking forces.
