500W Electric Kart - Plan Details

OVERVIEW DRAWING

This walkthrough describes the drawings in the "paid-for" plan set for the 500W mini-kart. These plans come as a complete package as two  pdf documents - one for the kart design and one for the drive gearbox - and also have an overall buy-list for the kart and accompanying notes - see our plans page for more details.

The first drawing in the set is an overview assembly drawing and shows the overall construction of the kart. It helps you to identify the main sub-assemblies of the kart from the wheels through the drive gearbox and body structures up to the steering components.

Specification information such as speed, weights etc are summarized on the sheet and information given on the specific gearbox gearing ratios recommended for the build.

You can also see the overall size of the kart from the side and in plan view.

This is the drawing to look over first to get a feel for the scope of the project
