500W Electric Kart - Plan Details

MAIN BODY STRUCTURE

The main chassis of the kart is made from ply and planed timber with a glued and screwed construction to give good strength and stiffness. The structure is described over 5 drawing sheets.

The first sheets provides an overview of the structure, itemizes the parts and gives a parts list. The first of the individual part details are also shown on this sheet.

The remaining made parts are detailed on sheets 2 and 3 - floor, walls, main longerons, stiffeners, seat panels etc.

Sheets 3, 4 and 5 describe the step-by-step assembly and bonding sequence for the structure. Assembly methods for setting the part positions correctly are included as notes on the drawings. A range of external, isometric and sectional views are used to give clear images of the build.
